In our conversations on the bus on the way home from John Glenn each day Gordy talked about his desire to become a famous trumpet player- he turned me on to Blood, Sweat and Tears. Much to my disappointment, he settled on becoming a heart surgeon. I saw him in the Cafeteria at Hennepin County Medical Center in the 70's when he was doing his residency. What a great guy. Don't quote me, but I believe he died suddenly from a heart attack many years ago.

I grew up on the same block as Gordy. We also played Little League together. We didn't have any of the same classes in high school, but I occasionally ran into him when we were both at the University of Minnesota. It was a great shock when I heard of his death.
